At Aesthetics by Juliet, patient safety, natural results, and advanced techniques are always my top priorities. That’s why continuing education is not optional - it’s essential.

This past July, I had the incredible opportunity to take a cadaver course led by one of the world’s leading facial anatomists and surgeons, Dr. Sebastian Cotofana, MD, PhD. Dr. Cotofana is internationally sought after for his expertise and has contributed over 300 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and lectures. In 2023, he was appointed as Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at Vanderbilt University, where he supports education and research for the next generation of providers.

A Hands-On Experience

The weekend training included intensive anatomy lectures and hands-on cadaver dissection. For me, the highlight was being able to inject cadaver tissue and then dissect the exact area to see where product truly travels beneath the skin. This type of experience is invaluable because it goes beyond theory - it shows, in real time, the relationship between injections and the underlying anatomy.

Every injection requires a deep understanding of what lies beneath the skin: arteries, nerves, veins, and muscles. Even a small mistake can affect comfort, outcomes, or safety. By practicing on cadavers, I can refine my skills, increase precision, and ensure the highest standard of care for my clients.

Why It Matters for You

When you choose Aesthetics by Juliet, you’re not just choosing a treatment, you’re choosing a provider who takes education seriously. I’ve been in healthcare for 20 years, and while I’ve attended cadaver labs before, this was my first in many years. Revisiting this training gave me an even greater appreciation for the importance of staying current, sharp, and safe.

As a solo practice owner, I’m responsible for every injection, every treatment, and every outcome. That means investing in myself and my education is non-negotiable. I want my clients to know that every syringe I hold comes with confidence, knowledge, and years of practice behind it.

The Takeaway

Continuing education isn’t just a box to check, it’s a lifelong commitment. My training with Dr. Cotofana was not only inspiring, but it also reinforced why I love this field: combining science, artistry, and safety to help people look and feel their best.

At Aesthetics by Juliet, you can feel confident knowing you’re in the hands of someone who is dedicated to learning, improving, and providing the safest, most effective care possible.
